Today I am headed up to Flagstaff to Cheer on Grand Canyon University in their first cross country race of the season.
LET THE RACING SEASON BEGIN!
Also Seth and Maria will be racing in Mexico, Missouri today. It will be Seth’s first race of the season as well.
There is just so much to look forward to today!
I have already clocked in my run for the day. I was so fortunate to have a chance to run with Janae, from HungryRunnerGirl. My day is off to such a great start. We started way before the sun came up. I truly enjoyed running with Janae. Hopefully next time she drops in to Arizona we can run a few more runs together.
After my run I tried this new beverage. It was definitely different. But I like it!
On another note, I was given some insight this week, and I would love to share it with you all. Success comes from within. You can spend your whole life hoping to find success or you can spend your life doing the things that will make you successful. Once again, keep in mind we all have different definitions of success. For me, Success is accomplishing some major feats with running. Others may view success as being a good role model to their children, or becoming a 3rd grade teacher. Success in individualized. No one success is better than another.
Here’s the thought someone expressed in regards to my running, but it can be used in all areas of life. Sometimes we get so caught up romanticizing ou
r goals and dreams that we forget the reality of it all. We forget about the work we have to put in to accomplishing our 30 seconds of fame and fortune. If your truly want to reach your goal you have to keep in mind that 9 time out of 10 it is going to be brutal. You will probably fall to your knees frustrated and confused.
Many of us have the WHAT and the HOW in life, but we forget about the WHY?
WHAT is it that you want?
HOW are you going to go about it?
The WHAT and the HOW will only take you so far.
WHY are you out there? WHY is it all worth it?
My opinion is that there has to be some sort of driving force from within you if you want to be successful.
It does not happen over night but when you reach your happiness, success, goals, whatever it is your are vying for, all the blisters will be worth it.
I am going to end with a picture of Samson, because I just have too many of them and he is just to dang cute not to share to the world!
